Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy
(KAP)
A transformative approach to healing

What is Ketamine?
Ketamine is a legally prescribed psychedelic medicine that, when used in a therapeutic setting, can support deep insight, emotional healing, and lasting change. It helps many people step outside familiar patterns, gain new perspectives, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways.
For over 50 years, ketamine has been used safely in medicine as an anesthetic. More recently, research has shown it to be highly effective in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, and existential distress—especially when combined with psychotherapy.
Unlike many other psychedelic medicines, ketamine is metabolized quickly, allowing for a profound therapeutic experience and guided integration within a single afternoon rather than an all-day journey.

What is it like?
Every ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) session is unique. As the medicine creates a more open and flexible state of consciousness, your therapist gently helps you explore whatever arises with curiosity and compassion. Together, this can support:
-
A profound shift in perspective
-
Freedom from familiar patterns of thinking
-
Greater self-compassion and emotional openness
-
New insights into life's challenges
-
Feelings of interconnectedness with yourself and something greater
-
A renewed sense of meaning and purpose
-
Lasting improvements in mood and overall well-being
While the medicine can open the door to these experiences, it is the therapeutic relationship and thoughtful integration afterward that help transform insight into lasting change.

KAP Session
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is more than a single session—it's a carefully supported process that helps you prepare for the experience, navigate it effectively, and integrate what you discover into everyday life.

1. Free Consultation
We'll start with a brief phone consultation to answer your questions and determine whether KAP is a good fit for your goals.

2. Medical Screening & Preparation
If we decide to move forward, you'll meet with a trusted nurse practitioner for a medical evaluation and ketamine prescription. We'll also have a preparation session (typically billable through insurance) to clarify your intentions and prepare for the experience.

3. KAP Session
Your ketamine-assisted psychotherapy session lasts approximately 3 hours and takes place in my private therapy cabin nestled in the prairie just outside of Livingston. This peaceful setting offers privacy, comfort, and a chance to connect more deeply with yourself and the natural world. The fee for the KAP session is $300. You'll need someone to drive you home afterward.

4. Integration
Within the following days, we'll meet again for an integration session (also typically billable through insurance) to reflect on your experience and help translate insights into meaningful, lasting change.
